The original Vaseline® petroleum jelly has been around for 140, we are all familiar with this skin heeling/beauty regime multi-use product. Famously Marilyn Monroe used to layer it on her face to keep wrinkles at bay, today makeup artists use it for a dewy look under makeup. My Nan Gladys was a very glamorous lady and used it in a number of ways in her beauty regime, but one that I remember was her advice of rubbing in some vaseline on my new school shoes to stop them cracking, it worked!
These days these little trusty tins for lips are always knocking around in my make-up drawer.
They come in original, aloe Vera, rose, cocoa butter, SPF 15 not to mention the limited addition’s. Over the years i think I’ve tried them all. I’m not too mad about the limited editions but with their inviting flavors and designs I often can’t resist as they look good enough to eat!
I really like the rosy lips for my lips on a non-lipstick day as it has a subtle tint that gives a big of life to my natural lip colour.
The rose and almond oil is also subtle and not over powering.
The creme brûlée is a little too perfumed and synthetic for my liking so I tend to use this for small skin areas like cuticles or dry patches on my and or arms. It’s great for pre-tanning by applying a thin layer to your ankles, knees, elbows, between your fingers!
These little pots won’t rehydrate or cure chapped skin/lips but they are soothing and help prevention particularly against the elements.
Ooooo I want!
