REVIEW: Ozzie Rizzo Argan Oil 50ml

image1 (2)

I was given this to try by Ozzie and thought to myself not another hair oil, but then I tried it and have fallen in love with Argan Oil all over again.

If you haven’t heard of Ozzie Rizzo here’s a quick background. Ozzie and his two brothers started their hairdressing career at Vidal Sassoon in the glory days and trained alongside Trevor Sorbie and others you’d recognise. Ozzie soon become the youngest Creative Director at Vidal Sassoon at the age of 21 with 60 stylist’s under him.  In the 80’s Ozzie and his brothers founded Sanrizz leaders in the industry with 10 salons and a hairdressing Academy. Ozzie has two stand alone boutique salons called Ozzie Rizzo in Mayfair and Richmond however they are still all part of the Sanrizz group. The brothers are respected in the hair industry and are the guy’s behind the Alternative Hair Show (raising money for leukaemia now in it’s 33rd year)

The Product: The packaging is clean and streamlined, with Ozzie’s logo. It’s in a plastic container with a high quality finish, a silver lid and a good size push down pump applicator. The base of the product has weight to it which means it won’t keep toppling over, nice touch! Also the side of the bottle has a little “window” a bit like an ink pen does, so you can see the amount you have left. All in all my first impressions are good, the packaging is impressive so to me this means quality.

It can be used on damp or dry hair and is a combination of 3 oils that add spectacular shine and smoothness to the hair. It also reduces drying time when applied to towel dried hair.

My Verdict: The smell is sweet which is quite strong luckily it fades when dried into the hair which is great. The consistency is light and not gloopy. I tried it on the back of my hand first. It absorbs into your skin quite quickly leaving your skin feeling smooth without any greasiness-and thought this is going to be amazing in my hair!

Trial One: I applied to towel dried hair, one pump (may need two pumps for long hair) rubbed into the palm of my hands, then I applied to my hair evenly from mid-lengths to ends. Dried my hair as I normally do (get moisture out first then smooth with a denman brush in three sections) My hair did actually dry quicker and was easy to manage, when dry it was looking sleek with no fly-aways, I’m really happy with the results.

Trial Two: This time I applied to clean dry styled hair, again one small pump rubbed into the palms of my hands and applied evenly to my mid lengths and ends, then lightly smoothed my parting (only do this after when you have very little product on your palms) My hair looks very shiny and smooth without weighing it down or looking heavy. The only thing I’m not keen on is the smell.

Summary: This is a nice hair oil, it’s light, versatile and does exactly what it’s mean’t to do. I don’t think I will re-purchase however I had compliments all day at work from my customers noticing I have shiny hair for a blonde!

What hair oils do you use? Would love to hear about them.

A little TLC for your hair: Bumble and bumble Hairdresser’s INVISIBLE OIL Shampoo & Conditioner

Bumble and bumble’s Hairdresser’s Invisible Oil shampoo and conditioner are renowned for being lightweight, non-greasy and sulphate free.

I don’t use Bb’s shampoo and conditioner on a regular basis however I absolutely LOVE these for when my hair needs a moisture boost, in particular following a colour session.

To start with they smell absolutely gorgeous and I find them to be highly nourishing without weighing down my fine brittle hair. It must be down to the 6 scrumptious featherlight oils they contain, yes that’s right 6!!! coconut oil, argan oil, macadamia but oil, sweet almond oil, safflower seed oil and grapeseed oil.

After using these my hair always feels soft and nourished without looking greasy. They are great at detangling my comb glides through my wet hair like a hot knife through butter. Hair is at it’s most fragile when wet, it’s easy to cause damage if you are tugging and pulling.

*Top Tip* Shampoo your hair as soon as you step into the shower and apply your conditioner – then proceed to cleanse your body/exfoliate and whatever else it is you do in the shower!

Always make rinsing your hair out to be your last job, this way you’ve given your conditioner time to penetrate and allow the steam of the shower to work it’s magic! If you can bear it finish with a cool rinse to add extra shine to your hair and wake up your skin!

Wella SP LUXE OIL 30ml – A Reconstructive Elixir For Hair

I was so happy when my lovely friends at Wella Uk sent me this little bottle of hair magic to try! It smells deliciously sweet and reminds me of summer. The consistency is light and non-greasy, perfect for my fine one length straight bob which is coloured and tends to become static at times due to lack of moisture…

IMG_8327.JPGI apply two small pumps (for my short hair it’s plenty) in the palm of my hands, rub together then apply evenly to my pre-washed damp hair from mid-length to ends taking care not to touch the roots. Then blow dry/style as normal and voilà…

My hair is easier to manage, it looks luxuriously healthy and shiny without looking like I’ve got product in it. My hair feels natural to touch (which I like) and not oily, it doesn’t weigh my hair down.

This product is simply perfect for my hair type and the smell is very subtle when it’s in your hair. You will experience a little hint of it when you swish your hair!
(LOVE IT)

IMG_8326.JPGHere’s the science bit:

Enriched with a blend of 3 precious and luxurious oils, Luxe Oil leaves the hair up to 10 times smoother with triple the amount of Keratin protection than a regular conditioning treatment.

Argan Oil, often referred to as Èliquid goldÉ, is renowned for its nutritive, cosmetic and medicinal qualities on hair, Almond Oil offers superior hydrating and lightweight properties to the hair and Jojoba Oil works wonders on fragile and dry ends. Using a reconstructive Transform Technology, Luxe Oil benefits the hair from the inside out whilst protecting the natural Keratin.

The small molecules of Luxe OilÉs nourishing formula penetrate deeply into the hair to lock in moisture and strengthen from the inner cuticle, whilst the oil forms a protective layer around each individual hair to protect against damage, repairing every strand so even damaged hair is noticeably smoother.

This multi-purpose oil elixir offers 8 amazing uses as it smoothes, softens, protects, defines, illuminates, repairs and reconditions the hair whilst preparing it for colour treatments or styling.

I receive lots of compliments on how soft and shiny my hair is when I’ve applied Luxe Oil Keratin boost. It can also be applied to dry hair if preferred.

Summary
I’ve enjoyed the results of this product it has delivered all of its promises instantly on first application. I will definitely repurchase this product it’s available in 100ml, you can buy at hair salons stocking Wella Professional or online here

The French Riviera in a Bottle

Divine Oil by Caudalie £27

20130120-141917.jpg
I have been using this luxury multi tasking oil on and off for the past 3 months. I use for the body fresh from the shower to lock in moisture and almost create a barrier against the winter elements.

Divine Oil can be used on Hair, body and nails, and can be spritzed in your bath.
It’s a dry oil so it will not overload or feel heavy.

This precious oil is organic and contains Argan oil, sesame oil and hibiscus oil.
It does not contain any parabens (chemicals) or mineral oil and is also silicone free.

As for the scent it is a musky woody perfume which you will LOVE or hate, I love the smell it’s like the French Riviera in a bottle, it’s a Divine blend of two roses, cedar, vanilla, pink pepper with a hint of grapefruit.

During the year of 2012 every bottles purchased = 1 planted tree in the amazon Forrest, estimating a goal of 1500 trees in total so well done Caudalie for supporting a good cause.

Go buy this oil to add a little luxury to your daily routine, you won’t be disappointed it will last for months!
