I was lucky to receive a 3g sample of this luxurious cult lip balm who have just celebrated their 10 year Anniversary of this product.
The packaging is girly in pink with clear directions, the box isn’t really isn’t necessary if I’m honest but it does match the price point (excuse the battered box)
The balm is in a small frosted glass pot with a shiny silver lid, it looks and feels special.
The smell is delicious the rose is very subtle and not over powering, you either love or hate rose scented products but don’t knock this one until you’ve tried it!
The 3g sample pot is just the right size for one finger, it’s thick consistency glides across your lips, it’s not sticky and tastes good! It stays put on your lips for hours so no need to keep re-applying unlike lots of cheaper balms.
It has an SPF15 and conditions chapped or dry lips, my lips tend to dry out as I wear a matt red lipstick (MAC Ruby Woo) daily so having a good lip conditioner is essential. I started using Baume de Rose 5 days ago and it’s completely rid of my flaky lips, leaving my lips feeling soft, smooth and conditioned. Girls isn’t that what we all want? It also has a slight pearly sheen to it, don’t let that put you off it’s very subtle and flattering to all skin tones.
My verdict is that this product is one of the best lip balms I’ve ever tried, it’s a hefty price point at £38 for 10g so sadly I don’t think I can justify re-purchasing but if budget wasn’t a concern I most certainly would.
And what’s more it also doubles up as a cuticle/nail conditioner *reaches for my pot and massages into my poor neglected winter moisture starved cuticles!
