L’Oréal Elvive Dream Lengths 8 Second Wonder Water | secondblonde

I have been using this product now weekly for five weeks, what are my thoughts? I absolutely love it and think it’s the game changer for home hair care.

What is Wonder Water? Well it’s much more than a water. It’s a Lamellar Conditioning rinse out Treatment which activates with water (when you rinse it out – so clever) leaving hair detangled, smooth, glossy and shiny.

When do I use it? You can use it up to 2-3 times a week, I’ve been using it once a week as it seems to last through the next hair wash. It’s a liquid conditioner that’s silicone free, water-based formula has a weightless-feel even on hair that’s ultra-fine hair like mine but equally as effective on frizzy or curly hair.

How do I apply it? Shampoo your hair then apply on clean wet hair Use 1 x 20ml dose for fine to medium textured hair, 2-3 doses for thick to curly textured hair, add 1 more dose if you have extra-long hair. I only need dose – the bottle has little measurement markers for each 20ml dose to make it easier (love this little detail making it feel like salon standard)

Twist the nozzle open and apply directly to wet hair on the lengths only, avoiding the scalp. As it is applied it gets nice and warm as the product activates – I like that bit. Massage through your hair lengths gently for 8 seconds and rinse out – that’s it! No waiting time. I do not need conditioner after but course hair types may need it. In the shower I notice my hair is tangle free and I can rake my fingers through like butter, Amazing! (and it smells lovely too – like holidays)

Results? While styling my hair I noticed my hair styles easier and dries quicker. It’s got a bit of weight and swish without looking or feeling like it’s got any product on it. It’s also super shiny and my colour looks vibrant.

Will I re-purchase? ABSOLUTELY – I think it gives the professional L’Oréal in-salon Fusio Dose express treatments a run for their money. This product has defo been my Lockdown Hair Best High Street Find! I’ve even got my Mum onto it (her hair type is opposite to mine it’s course and naturally grey) and she LOVES it too and purchased 3 bottles of it!

L’Oreal Extraordinary Oil – Facial Cleansing Oil | secondblonde

FullSizeRender (18)If you are a regular reader you will know that I really like using cleansing oil’s and balms for my daily cleansing routine. I have a mix of luxury brands and high street brands. I base my reviews on the performance of the product in relevance to it’s ingredients/price point and my expectations. For instance I wouldn’t expect a cleansing oil costing under £8 to provide an aromatherapy like experience for the senses of that of a  pure high grade plant oil cleanser costing £45.

I popped into Boot’s on the Kings Road in my lunch break to grab a bottle of water – there was a queue so I started to browse the skincare shelves and saw this Facial Cleansing Oil from the L’oreal Extraordinary Oil range and it was on offer. Seeing as my lastest cleansing oil was on it’s last dregs I thought I’d try it…

FullSizeRender (19)The bottle is a comfortable shape to hold in your hand and easy to squirt out 3 pumps into your palm. I them rub together with my other palm and massage into my face using the flats of my palms. I find this to be the easiest way, using fingertips always gets too messy for me.

The texture is oily but light and not greasy at all, the smell is quite synthetic (what you should expect for the price point) however it is a pleasant fresh fruity smell quite like subtle oranges.

Sometime’s I just rinse it  off as it’s light enough to do so but mostly I flannel off to give my skin a light exfoliation.  As it’s promise on the back of the bottle “beyond makeup removal” it does live up to it’s claim.

It leaves my skin clean, eye makeup free, feeling fresh and nourished and not screaming out for moisturiser immediately. Also to my surprise it doesn’t sting my eyes.

FullSizeRender (17)Overall I am really impressed with this facial cleansing oil – a little goes a long way and it’s such good value even at full price it’s only £7.99 I got mine on offer at £5.29! I will buy this cleansing oil again, I have it to hand in the shower and my husband has also used it a few times and liked it too.

Best Budget Cleanser – L’ORÉAL PARiS AGE PERFECT Cleansing Milk 200ml

2015/03/img_8707.jpg

2015/03/img_8708.jpgAge Perfect is designed for mature skin, but don’t let that put you off as it can be used on anyone!

The Promise:
Skin is perfectly cleansed, looks clearer and feels smoother. The milk leaves your skin soft and comfortable and skin looks fresh and revitalised. Helps reduce signs of fatigue and smooths mature skin and hydrates with moisture.

The Science Bit:
Enriched with Vitamin C and Magnesium Age Perfect Cleansing Milk exfoliates, smooths and re-invigorates the skin. Deeply cleanses gently removing impurities such as pollution and makeup without drying the skin. Also contains Shea Butter.

My Verdict:
I’m not a huge fan of “milk” cleansers they remind me of products my mum would use when I was a kid like ponds cold cream (they were all the rage back then) I’ve surprised myself that I quite liked this cleanser. It smells fresh and slightly florally it glides on in one swoosh on a cotton ball and that’s it! No need to rinse off.

It does the job well removing all the impurities, I use a separate eye makeup remover for stubborn mascara or eye liner.

It leaves my skin feeling clean and fresh with absolutely no residue or oiliness, my skin feels so comfortable I could apply my moisturiser straight after. I prefer to use a toner as I like the coolness that seems to wake my skin up in the morning! (Even though I now know from Sali Hughes book Pretty Honest that toners aren’t actually doing anything to the skin, they’re just a personal choice and no more than pretty smelling water)

My skin has been quite clear while using this, it definitely feels comfortable and smooth. Does it reduce signs of fatigue? That I’m not sold on however I do overall like this cleanser and the results of it’s performance have matched up to its promise!

Summary:
I’ve really enjoyed using this product and find it to be brilliant considering it’s budget price tag! It’s always on offer too at various drugstores or supermarkets. Currently on offer for a mere £2.99 instead of £4.99 here

PUREOLOGY® Strength Cure – serious colour care!

Woking in a salon I’m lucky to get the odd freebie from time to time. Last week we were all treated to a Pureology gift bag set for our efforts in selling retail. If I’m honest the gift bag itself isn’t really my thing, but the actual product inside…well let’s just say I’m in LOVE!

IMG_2937.JPGThe smell is gorgeous the colour is a bright pinkish colour. The smallest amount foams up a treat
(I know shampoo doesn’t have to foam to clean the hair but it’s oh so satisfying when it does) it contains antifade complex and treats micro scarred or damaged colour treated hair (my hair is all of the above, so I may of found my match)

IMG_7360.JPGHere’s a clever idea, the lid for the shampoo is at the top of the bottle and the lid for the conditioner is at the bottom of the bottle. So although the bottles are the same shape/colour they are easy to work out while your in the shower and not quite awake yet!

IMG_7359.JPGImpressively these products are 100% vegan and sulphate free. Here’s the science bit…

The shampoo; Gives your hair strength, reduces breakage and brings softness to every hair on your head. It will strengthen the fibre in your hair and remove dull residue.
Featuring Pureology’s Antifadecomplex and Asta-Repair, the Strength Cure rich foam cleanser controls the look of frizz, whilst helping to repair and strengthen micro damaged zones.

The conditioner; Working to detangle, strengthen, and condition it is the ideal product to look after your hair. With its opulent Pureology Antifadecomplex and Asta-repair formula, the conditioning product helps to improve hair’s shine and softness, whilst protecting colour radiance between every wash.
Aiming to improve body, smoothness, and suppleness the conditioner helps repair the micro damaged zones by enveloping strands in a smooth coating of Strength Cure conditioner.

The Verdict
I’m totally sold and would definitely purchase these products, though they are rich and seem like they will last forever they do not weigh down my fine straight over processed blonde hair. They do the opposite and give my hair fullness and bounce with a shine.

My Conclusion
I’ve been using these for one week and yes ok I’ve had a few inches cut off my hair which helps, but I can definitely feel and see an improvement with the condition of my hair which is often ironed flat each morning to remove my crash helmet kinks before I start work.

Anyone else tried any products from the fabulous pureology range?
