How is it June already? Doesn’t feel like Summer has properly started yet – yes we’ve had the occasional hot day here and there but we are half way to Christmas! Rant over – here’s a few products I’ve been enjoying using in May.  No new releases but some are new to me.

QMS Medicosmetics Night Collagen – works overnight with the skins repair process. A concentrated collagen serum that helps to reduce the signs of aging in the skin. No gimmicks here – just high quality scientific cosmetic products that work!

Weleda Skin food – Is a deep-penetrating replenishing skin repair cream for dry patches of skin containing extracts of soothing chamomile, calendula, wild pansy and a blend of enriching oils and waxes to provide a fine protective barrier. This multi-purpose skin cream is anti-inflammatory, circulation boosting and deeply moisturising. So lovely such a calming experience.

Sanctuary Spa Thermal Detox Mask – A self-heating mask uses warmth to help open up pores so charcoal & kaolin clay can help draw out impurities from deep within the skin. Containing soothing & calming myrrh essential oils it helps to remove excess oil to leave skin feeling purified, cleansed & silky-soft. It really heats up – feels like it’s doing what it should be doing.

Frezyderm Sun Screen Second Skin SPF 50 A transparent face sunscreen with unique cosmetic behavior that spreads evenly with one touch, leaves a velvety feel on the skin, stays matte for hours! Absorbs sebum and softens the appearance of wrinkles. Best face sun screen with so much more product I’ve tried EVER!

de Mamiel Restorative Cleansing Balm –  A wonderful honey-lemon scent- it’s exquisitely soft and silky. A myriad of skin-perfecting and mood enhancing ingredients get to work as you massage the balm into your skin. Anti-oxidant rich Kukui Nut butter, Calendula, Camellia and Moringa oils deep-cleanse the complexion, leaving it satin-soft, glowing and calm. This is not only very effective it takes me to another place!

Maria Nila True Soft Shampoo & Conditioner – Perfect for dry hair that softens, moisturises and stengthens the structure of the hair. Smoothing Argan oil reduces frizz and fights static electricity. Colour Guard Complex protects hair and reduces the loss of colour associated with washing, heat styling, UV rays! What more do you need! Smells so good and my hair loves it!

That’s my round up of my May favourites, what have you been using lately?

FrezyDerm Moisturizing Rich Cream | secondblonde

FullSizeRender (30)

I've fallen in love with the FrezyDerm brand lately, after loving the velvet technology second skin sun screen I couldn't wait to try one of the face creams. This is moisturiser is age specific for over 45's (i'm not quite there yet) or for very dry or dehydrated skin.

The packaging is the same as the sun screen I reviewed read it here if you missed it. I really like it. I use the cream in the morning, you can use it morning and night however I prefer to use face oils at night. I've been applying this cream in the morning after cleansing and applying my face serum but before my tinted moisturiser.

I only need a couple of pumps, it'a a pump dispenser which is lockable by twisting the lid. The cream is white and of a medium texture. It smells really nice – like a traditional face cream (takes me back to smelling the lotions/potions my glamorous Nanny Gladys would apply) It moves around my face with ease and is very quickly absorbed. My skin is instantly hydrated without looking or feeling greasy.

It contains 2 types of hyaluronic acid | Normal moisturizing factors (NMF) | Fish collagen: Prolonged hydration Tetrapeptide – 9 | Isoflavones: Anti-ageing treatment | Improvement of post-menopausal skin Avocado oil | Crambe Abyssinica Oil |  Emollient esters: Enhancement of the hydrolipid film

It's recommended as best for dry and dehydrated skin/mature skin 45+/post-menopause skin. Although I'm 42 I think my skin needs are dry/dehydrated.

I am really happy with this moisturiser, my skin really likes it and it's great under my make up as it is non-greasy so makes for a nice base. It also keeps mys skin hydrated and plump all day long, It promises over time to increase firmness and density, skin repairing, anti-wrinkle effect and I have no doubt that it will deliver on all of these promises.

It's reasonably priced at £19.99 for 50ml for more details go here I will definitely re-purchase this face cream, it's a great edition to my skin care routine.

FrezyDerm Sun Screen Velvet Face SPF 50+ | SECONDBLONDE

If you aren’t already familiar with FrezyDerm it’s an established Greek brand founded in 1986. I’ve received their breakthrough Sun Screen Velvet Face SPF 50+ which I’m really happy to try out and review.

The packaging is very smart and clinical looking which I think is attractive to both men/women and all ages. The shape of the bottle is easy to use and lightweight. It’s got a pump dispencer that you can twist to  lock and it’s 50ml so it ticks all the boxes for travelling or just having in your handbag.

The product texture is a transparent gel that does not smell. It’s like NOTHING I’ve ever tried before. OMG it is incredible!

A couple of pumps spreads evenly like a second velvet skin (that’ll be the revolutionary second skin technology innovation) It is an instant matte finish with no white marks or greasy residue. It doubles up as the perfect make-up base. I noticed my tinted moisturiser went on better and stayed put for much longer. And if that wasn’t enough my skin looked fresher and it blurred my fine lines and imperfections – win win win.

I also tried it on it’s own while sunning myself in my garden for a naughty couple of hours during the recent heat wave. In 30 degrees heat this sun screen did not melt nor did it make my skin feel uncomfortable or sweaty like other sun creams. It continued to stay matte, protect my skin and allow it to breathe.

I absolutely love this sun screen, I’m so impressed with it’s performance it delivers on all of it’s promises. I recommend it to anyone looking for a new SPF and think it will suit all ages/skin types.

Check it out here. £17.50 50ml
