My Make-Up Bag Staples

Being a bit of beauty junkie I like to try out new products however, there’s a few products that live in my make-up bag all year round that I use on a daily basis that have become my staples.

1. Lipstick: Mac Ruby Woo Matte

2. Mascara: Eyeko Fat Brush or Benefit They’re Real

3. Powder: No 7 Perfect Light Pressed Powder in medium

4. Brows: Barry m brow kit or Benefit Brow Zings

5. Tinted Moisturiser: Nivea BB cream in light

6. High Lighter: Benefit Girl Meets Pearl

7. Cuticle Care: OPI Avoplex Cuticle Oil To Go

What are your “go to” products? I’d love to hear about them.

Nailing it with Jessica “Sexy Siren”

So this is the first time I’m trying a Jessica polish…I know right! I was given a mini sized bottle in a good bag last winter and it’s been knocking around at the back of my nail polish drawer. Time to give it a whirl…jessica nail polish 1

(excuse the paint job, i’m no pro! just enjoy painting my nails and sharing with you)

The brush size is perfect for applying even strokes, the colour glided on effortlessly. Two coats gave a lovely colour appearing slightly lighter than the liquid in the bottle. It’s got a raspberry hue to it which I quite like for a change. (normally I go for a darker shade)

jessica nail polish 2I prepared my nails with one coat of Essie’s Fill the Gap, to fill in a few fine lines I have on some of my nails. Followed by two coats of Jessica Sexy Siren, I do one stroke down the centre of my nail and two strokes either side.

*Top Tip* get as close to the sides as possible for a professional looking paint job!

I brushed on a generous lick of Intensae Crystalline Top Coat. To finish I sweep Barielle Advanced Pro Cuticle Oil over my dry cuticles giving the appearance of healthy nourished nails.

Barielle® PRO Advanced Cuticle Renewal Oil

I spotted this cuticle oil by Barielle while browsing the beauty section in TK Maxx recently. I needed a new cuticle oil as my CND solar oil had finished and my cuticles were looking quite dry and unkept. I couldn’t resist the discounted price tag, this was a first for me as I’ve never purchased beauty from this store before. I’ve forgotten the exact amount but it was something like £2.99 instead of $12 (yes US dollars)!

IMG_6780.JPGIt’s a professional PRO product so I was hoping it’s as good as it’s title suggests.

IMG_6783.JPGI’ve been applying this at night (when I remember to) and I gotta say the results are amazing and live up to all my expectations. My cuticles don’t just look healthy but feel soft and nourished. This oil had instantly changed the appearance of my nails for the better.

IMG_6781.JPGIt soaks in and doesn’t feel too “oily” the smell reminds my of fruit pastel ice lollies! A bit random but pleasant all the same. The smell isn’t strong and wears off after a few minutes of application. I normally gently massage into each cuticle. The appearance of my nourished cuticles is long lasting!

IMG_6993-0.JPGIt’s currently on my bedside table so I don’t forget to apply regular in these winter months. This oil heals dry cuticles, prevents nail breakage, builds strong, healthy nails
and even works on nail polish!

The verdict: I am really happy with the quality, consistency and the performance of this product and would definitely repurchase again even though I do love the almond smell of CND’s solar oil.

What cuticle oil’s or cream’s do you use?
