Perfect Pins! Get your Legs Ready For Summer 2015

IMG_9311.PNGI’ve always been a little envious of women with lovely legs. The moment the sun comes out so do long tanned limbs wearing high hemlines and heels looking gorgeous and feminine. While there’s me with my much shorter, paler legs still hibernating under black 60 denier tights!

Every year getting my legs out is always a bit of a thing, but sooner or later it eventually has to happen. Thank goodness there’s an abundance of beauty products to help make the most of what you’ve got.

Hair Removal
I opt for shaving with good quality disposable razors like Gillette. It’s quick cheap and fuss free, waxing is a longer lasting option which also has the advantage of softening the hairs. Gillette 4 pack £3.99

Exfoliation
If anything like me your legs are still recovering from winter and a little dry and patchy. Exfoliating a few times a week keeps unsightly scaly legs at bay. I love using Soap and Glory’s Sugar Crush Body Scrub. Sugar Crush £8.00

Moisturise
This is a must all year round to keep your skin hydrated and silky smooth. Pre-tanning add a generous amount to your knees and ankles to prevent un-even tanning. I have quite a few brands I like and use, amongst my favourites in my bathroom are Bliss, Laura Mercier and Soap and Glory.

Tanning
I’m not a “fake tan” kinda girl but in the summer months I like to use a gradual tan to add a healthy glow to even out my skin tone improving the overall appearance of my legs. My favourites are Dove Summer Glow, St Tropez Gradual Tan and James Read Gradual Tan. James is the King of fake tans with a celebrity clientele and an ever developing line of self tanning face/body gorgeous products that are truly amazing! Gradual Tan £24

Feet
That’s a whole other blog post right there, just a quick mention to moisturise your heels/feet. There’s nothing worse than dry heels peeking out of sling backs or flip flops! And of-course finish with a pretty nail colour on your toenails. Heel Genius £5.50

Ta dah! You are ready to step out in your leg-barring minis. If you’ve any tips share them in the comments below.

The Posh Girl’s Body Scrub – Laura Mercier Almond Coconut Milk Scrub 150g

imageimage-2image-3
You may of read my review of almond coconut milk soufflé body creme which I absolutely fell in love with referring to it as heaven in a jar, read full review here

So here’s my review of the body scrub which came in the same set.

The Promise
Laura Mercier Almond Coconut Milk Scrub is a polishing scrub with sugar granules and exfoliating beads to gently sloughs skin as well as clarify and tone. The Creamy texture removes dead skin cells from the skin’s surface leaving skin soft and silky.

The Science Bit
Macadamia Nut and Sweet Almond Oils moisturize, Vitamin A&E protect and soothe. Can be used every other day, but mild enough for every day usage. Almond Coconut Milk is a warm, rich fragrance with powdered sugar, vanilla extract and a hint of cinnamon. Includes notes of vanilla mousse as well as vanilla meringue.

My Verdict
I love the luxury look of having a body scrub in a glass jar, looks great in my bathroom. The almond Coconut Milk is a seductive, warm and comforting which is a rich and alluring experience. The texture is quite different to what I normally experience with body scrubs. It contains exfoliating beads and sugar in large chunky pieces, the cream is quite gooey, almost like a thick creamed rice pudding!

At first I wasn’t sure if I would like this kind of gooey texture on my skin in the shower…well all I can say is that it is “different” I’m not in love with it but it certainly does leave my skin feeling polished and silky smooth as it promises and a delicate aroma lingers on my skin.

I personally prefer body scrubs with a paste like texture and rounded small exfoliates rather than big chunky rectangular shapes.

Summary
The quality of ingredients of this scrub is good however I find it too sticky and therefore wouldn’t re-purchase. That said it does give a lovely result. Purchase yours here

Fresh n’ Foamy Body Polish

Bliss® Blood Orange + White Pepper Sugar Scrub is a fresh vibrantly scented body scrub that lathers up for a gentle sudsy, smoothing, softening skin cleansing and exfoliating experience.

20130826-155516.jpgBenefits:
Sugar granules gentle exfoliate and smooth skin, that dissolve easily after rinsing.
Vitamins A, C and E to protect your skin.
Sunflower Oil to keep skin soft and supple.
Orange and Pepper deliver a warm, clean and invigorating scent.

20130826-155842.jpgUse on damp skin in the shower in circular motions to buff away full skin to reveal energized and polished supple skin.

The smell is subtle citrus with warm undertones, the texture is just to my liking, not scratchy but rounded and enjoyable. The foamy part is a nice surprise which makes it feel like a luxurious experience.

20130826-160007.jpgMy skins feels smooth, supple and moisturised and polished, I don’t even require moisturiser really but still apply.

At £28.60 340ml It’s a little pricey compared to my all time favorite “Soap and Glory Sugar Crush” £8 300ml (another of Marcia Kilgores fabulous beauty lines)

Overall this product looks pretty, is high quality, no fuss, does exactly what it claims and feels luxurious, so I’m gonna give it the thumbs up for a great pre/post summer body scrub!
