Review: Benefit It’s Potent Eye Cream (Radiant Skin range)

It’s Potent Eye Cream has received mixed reviews so I thought I’d give it a go as this sample had come free with another purchase at Boots earlier in the summer months…photo 1 (1)

The packaging is cute with attention to detail as you’d expect with benefit, the box has both matt and gloss textures and the glass jar has beautiful detail. Mine is a sample size so has a plastic lid however, the full size jar has a cork lid.

On to the product…I tried it out a few times at the start of the summer months and then again this week now the weather is cooler.

The consistency is that of a cream but pleasingly feels more like a serum on the skin. It’s light non-greasy and soaks straight in and feels quite cooling which is great to wake up morning puffy looking eyes. This product is hydrating and very light so perfect for the summer months. If I’m honest I did not notice any change to dark circles which was rather disappointing considering the tag line claims “brightening eye cream to fade dark circles”

All in all this is a nice refreshing eye cream suitable (in my opinion) to skin in it’s early twenties that doesn’t have any fine lines or crepiness yet.

Have you used any of benefit’s Radiant Skincare? did the brightening effect work for you? I would love to hear your feeedback about new products.

The Ultimate Bronze For Champions!

BENEFIT’s The Bronze Of Champions Kit. The little box of magic contains some of Benefit’s best-selling products for your eyes, lips and cheeks, this beautiful box will give you summer-ready skin in an instant. It was a Christmas gift from my very sweet niece’s Danielle 4yrs, Charlotte 3yrs – what good taste they have already 🙂

Watt’s Up

Is a Soft Focus Highlighter for the face. It has a cream-to-powder finish, this soft focus highlighter will give your complexion a luminous sheen which is very flattering and not cheap n glittery! It’s easy to apply and blends well. It will give your face a gorgeous glow. It’s my new found “can’t live without” product

Creaseless Cream Shadow in Bikini-Tini

This creamy eye shadow glides on effortlessly, I love the fact it in indeed crease-proof as it makes it idiot proof and easy to blend in a hurry. It also has staying power and really won’t budge the whole day!

Long-wear Powder Shadow in Thanks A Latte

It’s Silky and soft and such a beautiful shade that suits all skin tones/eye colour.  It looks so pretty when applied and will stay from morning til night.

Hoola Bronzing Powder

Ok so this is “The”best-selling bronzer in the UK! A delicate powder that gives you a natural looking tan all year round. It doesn’t contain any glitzy glitter or shimmer but a healthy radiant complexion all year round. I have two friends who swear by it and use it all year round, Martina first introduced me to it and Jayne told me the other day it’s great for contouring.

Powder Brush
A mini version of the full size but still made from natural bristles, this soft brush allows for easy application of the Hoola Bronzing Powder.
Ultra Plush Lip Gloss in Hoola
A non sticky but glossy lip formula which moisture drenches your lips. Great for summer nights to compliment a radiant glow.

They’re Real! Beyond Mascara

Last but certainly not least! Another best-selling Benefit product. I’ve blogged about this mascara before. A fantastic multi-tasker it curls, volumises, lifts and separates your lashes, what more do you want? It also has a little bobble on the end if the wand which is great for building up the inner or outer lashes in the tricky places. It always looks like I’ve got falsies on when I’m wearing this glamorous mascara.
And of course all this comes complete with a mirror built on the lid of the box under the instructions/tips in true Benefit style with an illustrated step by step guide.

Go get one, you won’t  regret it , it’s a great way  to try them all out first.

They’re Real!

THEY’RE REAL by Benefit courtesy of my June 2013 issue of Elle Magazine, perfect! I was looking to try out a new mascara and had heard great things about this one.

20130530-193213.jpgPackaging is eye catching, although I have a travel size the shape of the bottle is comfortable to handle and the lid just the right size to hold.

20130530-193911.jpg

20130530-195800.jpgThe wand is the spiky rubbery type and has a spiky ball at the tip which is a clever little tool to reach all outer and inner lashes, the result is a glossy black even coverage. I’m lucky to have long lashes naturally but this mascara really does accentuate my lashes giving that oh là là effect!

20130530-200427.jpgThe only downside which is more personal preference is that my lashes feel quite crispy, but on the upside this mascara dries instantly when applied and does not smudge and lasts the whole day!

I will definitely consider re-buying.

Brows a Go Go vs Brow Zings

20130224-135435.jpg

Brows a Go Go £26.50 includes: two shades of Brow Zings powder, 1 Brow Zings wax, smock in’ eye liner, eye bright cream, brow highlighter powder, mini tweezers, Hard angled/Talent brush and step by step lesson.

Brow Zings £22.50 includes: One shade of Brow Zings powder, 1 Brow Zings wax, mini tweezers, Hard angled/Talent brush and step by step lesson.

My trusty old brow kit “Brows a Go Go” changed my brows/life when Brow Expert Jenna Treat introduced me to how to groom, shape at home back in 2006 and I haven’t looked back. This nifty little kit from Benefit with everything you need has lasted me 7 years! only recently it’s the dark brow shadow that’s run out, the rest is still good to go! Having travelled with me wherever I go and been dropped on the floor umpteen times it’s a little messy and dog eared but still functional.20130224-134154.jpg

My 7 year old kit has seen better days!20130224-134914.jpg Brows a Go Go Includes everything you need for your desired look, and the wax keeps me sparse brows in check, ok I know it’s seen better days, time for a replacement, this time I’m down sizing to Brow Zings

20130224-140041.jpg

20130224-140406.jpgA smaller version with the brow wax and one shade including the same 2 brow brushes, one angled for precision on soft for blending oh and the same cute emergency tweezers. I went for the medium shade powder but wish I’d stuck with the dark shade I’d gotten used too. I love the cardboard packaging of Brows a Go Go with it’s statement retro look, however I think I much prefer the sleek hard case of Brow Zings, it’s compact and looks neat in my makeup bag. Go buy either one of these kits, they are a little pricey but well worth every penny!
